How To Know If You Have Been Hacked?

I've Been Hacked is the most trusted Network & Security company on the coast. We have over 30 years experience in all things IT, serving major corporations such as Dreamworld & Newscorp Australia, as well as 5000+ general clients.

Security Audit

In any & all circumstances when it comes to cyber security, it is important to be safe, rather than sorry. Any weird behaviour with devices or strange emails coming in could be reasonably be someone trying to exploit & compromise you. It can also just be nothing... But is it really worth the risk of leaving it unchecked? In our experience, with the devastation we have seen hacking has caused in peoples lives, we would confidently say that it is worth checking. We highly encourage getting in touch for a security audit.

Account Notifications

A very reliable indicator of being compromised is being sent notifications via app, email or text message indicating sign ins or account modifications for your online accounts. For example, when you get an email from security@facebookmail.com can often be a message from facebook/meta indicating a potential compromise on your account.

With this being said, many scammers also attempt to mimic these companies by sending similar looking emails with malicious links attached to them. Either way, unless you explicitly know about the change being made in these notifications, it is worth being checked over.

Weird Behaviour On Devices

Anything from high power being used on apps to weird glitches on devices could possibly be an indicator of a compromised device. More than often, these can simply be attributed to logical reasons that aren't to do with hacking. But trust us, you don't want to be the 5% that really has something serious going on. In our 30+ years in IT & security, we have been able to see almost every possible problem with computers & phones. Let us evaluate your device to determine if it is a call for concern or a simple bug / change in operation due to logical reasoning

Slow / No Internet

Slow performing internet or zero internet access can reasonably be attributed to a computer infection, direct wifi attacks or router control. Again, there can also be real world explanations such as failing hardware, ISP issues, interference or WIFI performance issues. But, the gravity of the situation if you are compromised can be catastrophic. A network attack can be your device & any other devices in the network could be monitored & actively hacked. We highly encourage getting your network checked just in case.
